Afghani Leeti Recipe

Afghani leeti is an Afghani sweet soup. It is also called Afghani laitee. This sweet soup is eaten by newborn moms after birthing children in Afghanistan. This soup is made with flour, jaggery, nuts and spices. So the Afghani leeti recipe is –

Ingredients

  1. Sunflower oil ( 5 tbsp )
  2. All purpose flour ( 3 tbsp )
  3. Turmeric powder ( 1 tsp )
  4. Hot water ( 5.5 cups )
  5. Crushed ginger ( 1 tsp )
  6. Cardamom powder ( 1 tsp )
  7. Crushed walnuts ( 1/3 cup )
  8. Crushed jaggery or Jaggery powder ( 1/2 cup or as your taste )
  9. Pistachio nuts

Methods

  • Firstly, put the sunflower oil, all purpose flour, turmeric powder in the pan and cook it for 3 minutes.
  • Then, add the hot water to the pan and mix it very well with a whisk.
  • Then, again add crushed jaggery, crushed ginger, cardamom powder, crushed walnuts to the pan and cook it for 8 minutes.
  • Then, Afghani leeti will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy Afghani leeti with pistachio nuts.
