Afghani Qorot Recipe

Qorot is an Afghani dried yogurt that is made with fatty yogurt. It is also called quroot, ghare ghoroot, goban. It is not only made in Afghanistan but also it is made in Iran and Pakistan. It is eaten as a snack. Besides it is used to make many dishes. Afghani qorot is made by the two processes – without boiling yogurt and with boiling yogurt. So we provided Afghani qorot recipe that is made by without boiling yogurt process.

  1. Full fat sour plain yogurt ( 6 cups )
  2. Salt ( 5.5 tsp )
  • Firstly, strain the plain yogurt with a strainer.
  • Then, put the strained yogurt in the cheese cloth.
  • Then, tie the cheese cloth with a rubber band tightly.
  • Then, hang the cheese cloth for 3 days for that reason extra water from the yogurt will be removed.
  • Then, put the salt in the yogurt and mix it very well with your hand.
  • Then, shape the yogurt like a small ball.
  • Then, put the yogurt balls on the parchment paper.
  • Then, dry the yogurt balls in the sun for 1 week.
  • Then, Afghani qorot will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy Afghani qorot.

Note:

  • We must put the yogurt balls in the refrigerator at night.

Afghani Qorot Recipe With Boiling Yogurt

Afghani qorot can be made with boiling yogurt. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Full fat sour plain yogurt ( 6 cups )
  2. Salt ( 5.5 tsp )
  • Firstly, put the plain yogurt in the pan and mix it very well with a whisk.
  • Then, boil the yogurt for 4 minutes.
  • Then, add the salt to the pan and again boil the yogurt for 2 minutes.
  • Then, strain the boiled yogurt with a strainer.
  • Then, put the strained yogurt in the cheese cloth.
  • Then, tie the cheese cloth with a rubber band tightly.
  • Then, hang the cheese cloth for 3 hours for that reason extra water from the yogurt will be removed.
  • Then, shape the yogurt like a small ball.
  • Then, put the yogurt balls on the parchment paper.
  • Then, dry the yogurt balls in the sun for 2 weeks.
  • Then, Afghani qorot will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy and delicious Afghani qorot.

Note:

  • We must put the yogurt balls in the refrigerator at night.
  • We must stir the yogurt continously when the yogurt is boiling.

Pakistani Qorot Recipe

Qorot is called goban in Pakistan. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Full fat sour plain yogurt ( 6 cups )
  2. Corn starch powder ( 7 tbsp )
  3. Salt ( 4 tsp )
  • Firstly, strain the plain yogurt with a strainer.
  • Then, put the strained yogurt in the cheese cloth.
  • Then, tie the cheese cloth with a rubber band tightly.
  • Then, hang the cheese cloth for 3 days for that reason extra water from the yogurt will be removed.
  • Then, put the salt, corn starch powder in the yogurt and mix it very well with your hand.
  • Then, shape the yogurt like a small ball.
  • Then, put the yogurt balls on the parchment paper.
  • Then, dry the yogurt balls in the sun for 1 week.
  • Then, Pakistani qorot will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy Pakistani qorot.

  • We must put the yogurt balls in the refrigerator at night.

Quick Qorot Recipe

We can make qorot quickly with the dehydrator machine. Qorot can be made by dehydrator machine in less time than drying qorot in the sun. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Full fat sour plain yogurt ( 6 cups )
  2. Salt ( 4 tsp )
  • Firstly, strain the plain yogurt with a strainer.
  • Then, put the strained yogurt in the cheese cloth.
  • Then, tie the cheese cloth with a rubber band tightly.
  • Then, hang the cheese cloth for 2 days for that reason extra water from the yogurt will be removed.
  • Then, put the salt in the yogurt and mix it very well with your hand.
  • Then, shape the yogurt like a small ball.
  • Then, put the parchment paper on the dehydrator machine tray and put the yogurt balls on the parchment paper.
  • Then, put the dehydrator machine tray in the dehydrator machine and dry the yogurt balls at 110 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 hours.
  • Then, qorot will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this delicious qorot.

Note:

  • We must check the yogurt balls after 10 hours, if they dried or not.
