Afghani Shorba Recipe

Afghani shorba is an Afghani soup that is made with meat, vegetables and spices. It is one of the common dishes in Afghanistan. Afghani people make this dish twice in one week. It is eaten with bread. So the Afghani shorba recipe is-

  1. Lamb meat ( 1 kg )
  2. Onion ( 1 )
  3. Garlic cloves ( 8 )
  4. Tomatoes ( 2 )
  5. Carrots ( 2 )
  6. Turnips ( 2 )
  7. Potatoes ( 3 )
  8. Coriander leaves ( 1/2 cup )
  9. Tomato puree ( 2 tbsp )
  10. Sunflower oil ( 1/2 cup )
  11. Green chilies ( 7 )
  12. Black pepper ( 1 tsp )
  13. Turmeric powder ( 1 tsp )
  14. Hot water ( 18 cups )
  15. Salt (1 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the onion, tomatoes, carrots, turnips, potatoes, green chilies and coriander leaves into small pieces.
  • Then, mince the garlic.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, onion, minced garlic, lamb meat, tomatoes, tomato puree, black pepper, green chilies, turmeric powder, salt in the saucepan and cook it for 8 minutes.
  • Then, add the water to the saucepan and cook it for 40 minutes.
  • Then, again add the carrots, turnips, potatoes, coriander leaves to the pan and cook it until the lamb meat and vegetables are cooked perfectly.
  • Lastly, serve this delicious afghani shorba with bread.

Afghani Chicken Shorba Recipe

Afghani chicken shorba recipe is easiest and quickest recipe than lamb meat shorba. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Chicken pieces ( 12 )
  2. Onion ( 1 )
  3. Garlic cloves ( 6 )
  4. Tomato puree ( 1 can )
  5. Sunflower oil ( 1/2 cup )
  6. Green chilies ( 7 )
  7. Black pepper ( 1 tsp )
  8. Turmeric powder ( 1 tsp )
  9. Water ( 8 cups )
  10. Salt (1 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the onion and green chilies into small pieces.
  • Then, mince the garlic.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, onion, minced garlic, chicken pieces, tomato puree, black pepper, green chilies, turmeric powder, salt in the saucepan and cook it for 8 minutes.
  • Then, add the water to the saucepan and cook it for 15 minutes.
  • Lastly, serve this easy and quick afghani chicken shorba with bread.

Afghani shorbe can be cooked with chickpeas. So the recipe of this dish is-

  2. Canned chickpeas ( 1 )
  3. Onion ( 1 )
  4. Garlic cloves ( 8 )
  5. Tomatoes ( 2 )
  6. Carrots ( 2 )
  7. Potatoes ( 3 )
  8. Coriander leaves ( 1/2 cup )
  9. Tomato puree ( 2 tbsp )
  10. Sunflower oil ( 1/2 cup )
  11. Chilli flakes ( 1 tsp )
  12. Black pepper ( 1 tsp )
  13. Turmeric powder ( 1 tsp )
  14. Hot water ( 8 cups )
  15. Salt (1 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the onion, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes and coriander leaves into small pieces.
