Bahraini Halwa Recipe

Bahraini halwa is a Bahraini dessert. The main ingredient of this dessert is cornstarch. Bahraini people usually eat this dessert with coffee as a snack. It is also eaten on Eid day and after Eid day in Bahrain. So the Bahraini halwa recipe is-

  1. Cornstarch ( 4 tbsp )
  2. Normal temperature water ( 5 cups )
  3. Rose water ( 1/3 cup )
  4. Saffron threads ( 1/2 tsp )
  5. Corn oil ( 1/2 cup )
  6. Cardamom powder ( 1 tbsp )
  7. Food color ( red ) ( 1 tsp )
  8. Sugar ( 3.5 cups or as your taste )
  9. Pistachio nuts
  10. Cashew nuts
  • Firstly, soak the saffron threads in the rose water for half an hour.
  • Then, put cornstarch, normal temperature water in the bowl and mix it very well with a whisk.
  • Then, put the sugar in the pan and cook it until it becomes brown color.
  • Then, add the cornstarch water mixture to the pan and stir it very well with a wooden spatula.
  • Then, again add the rose water saffron mixture, corn oil, food color, cardamom powder to the the pan and cook until it becomes thick.
  • Then, Bahraini halwa will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this Bahraini halwa with pistachio nuts and cashew nuts.

Note: We have to stir all the ingredients continuously when cooking.

Sugar Free Bahraini Halwa Recipe

Sugar free Bahraini halwa is appropriate for those dieters who don’t eat sugar. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Cornstarch ( 4 tbsp )
  2. Normal temperature water ( 5.5 cups )
  3. Rose water ( 1/3 cup )
  4. Saffron threads ( 1/2 tsp )
  5. Ghee ( 1/2 cup )
  6. Cardamom powder ( 1 tbsp )
  7. Food color ( red ) ( 1 tsp )
  8. Jaggery powder ( 3 cups or as your taste )
  9. Pistachio nuts
  10. Peeled almond nuts
  • Firstly, soak the saffron threads in the rose water for half an hour.
  • Then, put cornstarch, normal temperature water in the bowl and mix it very well with a whisk.
  • Then, add the cornstarch water mixture to the pan and stir it very well with a wooden spatula.
  • Then, again add the jaggery powder, rose water saffron mixture, ghee, food color, cardamom powder to the the pan and cook until it becomes thick.
  • Then, Bahraini halwa will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this sugar free Bahraini halwa with pistachio nuts and peeled almond nuts.

Note: We have to stir all the ingredients continuously when cooking.

Keto Bahraini Halwa Recipe

Keto Bahraini halwa is appropriate for keto dieters. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Psyllium Husks ( 1 cup )
  2. Normal temperature water ( 2 cups )
  3. Rose water ( 1/3 cup )
  4. Saffron threads ( 1/2 tsp )
  5. Walnut oil ( 1/2 cup )
  6. Cardamom powder ( 1 tbsp )
  7. Food color ( red ) ( 1 tsp )
  8. Monk fruit sweetener ( 4 cups or as your taste )
  9. Pistachio nuts
  10. Cashew nuts
  • Firstly, soak the saffron threads in the rose water for half an hour.
  • Then, put psyllium husks, normal temperature water in the bowl and mix it very well with a whisk.
  • Then, add the psyllium husks water mixture to the pan and stir it very well with a wooden spatula.
  • Then, again add the monk fruit sweetener, rose water saffron mixture, walnut oil, food color, cardamom powder to the the pan and cook until it becomes thick.
  • Then, Bahraini halwa will be made.
  • Lastly, serve this keto Bahraini halwa with pistachio nuts and peeled almond nuts.

Note: We have to stir all the ingredients continuously when cooking.
