Jaju Recipe

Jaju is a Bhutanese soup that is made with different types of vegetables like- spinach, bitter ground, pumpkin, dandelion leaves, bamboo shoots, seaweed and milk or cheese. Bhutanese people eat this dish with rice. So we provided two vegetables jaju recipe. That is-

  1. Spinach ( 200 gram )
  2. Garlic cloves ( 14 )
  3. Tomato ( 1 )
  4. Onion ( 1 )
  5. Green chillies ( 5 )
  6. Sunflower oil ( 1/4 cup )
  7. Cow milk ( 2 cup )
  8. Water ( 2 cup )
  9. Salt ( 1 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the spinach, tomato, onion, and green chilies into small pieces.
  • Then, crush the garlic cloves.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, onion, crushed garlic cloves, tomato, green chili, water, salt in the pan and cook it for 3 minutes.
  • Then, add the milk, spinach to the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy Bhutanese jaju with rice.

Bitter Ground Jaju Recipe

Bitter ground jaju is another Bhutanese vegetable soup that is a very unique taste. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Large bitter ground ( 1 )
  2. Garlic cloves ( 5 )
  3. Onion ( 1 )
  4. Green chillies ( 2 )
  5. Slice cheese ( 1.5 )
  6. Sunflower oil ( 3 tbsp )
  7. MSG ( 1 pinch )
  8. Water ( 3 cups )
  9. Salt ( 1/2 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the onion, and green chilies into small pieces.
  • Then, crush the garlic cloves.
  • Then, remove the seeds of the bitter ground.
  • Then, wash the bitter ground very well.
  • Then, cut the bitter ground into small pieces.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, onion, crushed garlic cloves, bitter ground, green chili in the pan and fry it for 3 minutes.
  • Then, add the water, salt to the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Then, again add the slice cheese, MSG to the pan and cook it for 3 minutes.
  • Lastly, serve this Bhutanese bitter ground jaju with rice.

Dandelion Leaves Jaju Recipe

Dandelion leaves jaju is a very healthy Bhutanese soup. So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Dandelion leaves ( 150 grams )
  2. Garlic paste ( 1 tbsp )
  3. Ginger paste ( 1 tbsp )
  4. Tomato ( 1 )
  5. Chili flakes ( 1 tsp )
  6. Feta cheese ( 1/2 cup )
  7. Sunflower oil ( 1/2 cup )
  8. Water ( 3.5 cups )
  9. Salt ( 1 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the tomato and dandelion leaves into small pieces.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, tomato, dandelion leaves, garlic paste, ginger paste, chili flakes, salt in the pan and fry it for 3 minutes.
  • Then, again add the feta cheese, water to the pan and cook it for 4 minutes.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy Bhutanese dandelion leaves jaju with rice.

Seaweed Jaju Recipe

Seaweed jaju is another healthy and delicious jaju . So the recipe of this dish is-

  1. Dried seaweed flakes ( 1 cup )
  2. Onion ( 1 )
  3. Garlic cloves ( 5 )
  4. Green chillies ( 3 )
  5. Feta cheese ( 1/2 cup )
  6. Sunflower oil ( 1/3 cup )
  7. Water ( 3.5 cups )
  8. Salt ( 1 tsp or as your taste )
  • Firstly, cut the onion, and green chilies into small pieces.
  • Then, crush the garlic cloves.
  • Then, soak the dried seaweed flakes in the water for 15 minutes.
  • Then, strain the seaweed with a strainer.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, onion, crushed garlic cloves, green chili, water, salt in the pan and cook it for 3 minutes.
  • Then, add the feta cheese, soaked seaweed to the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Lastly, serve this healthy and delicious Bhutanese seaweed jaju.
