Khoresh bamieh is a Persian okra stew that is made with okra, meat, tomato paste and spices. It is one of the popular dishes in Iran. It is eaten with Persian white rice. So the Khoresh Bamieh recipe is –

Ingredients

  1. Okra ( 400 gram )
  2. Beef stew meat ( 1 kg )
  3. Onion ( 2 )
  4. Garlic ( 1 )
  5. Turmeric powder ( 1 tsp )
  6. Ground black pepper ( 1 and 1/2 tbsp )
  7. Cinnamon powder ( 1 tsp )
  8. Tomato paste ( 3 tbsp )
  9. Tomato puree ( 1 can )
  10. Lemon juice ( 3 tbsp )
  11. Sunflower oil ( 3 cups )
  12. Hot water ( 14 cups )
  13. Salt ( 1 tbsp or as your taste )

Methods

  • Firstly, cut the tips of the okras.
  • Then, cut the onions and garlic into small pieces.
  • Then, fry the okras with the sunflower oil for 3 minutes.
  • Then, put the sunflower oil, onion, garlic, beef stew meat, turmeric powder, ground black pepper, cinnamon powder, lemon juice, salt in the nonstick pan and cook it for 10 minutes.
  • Then, add the tomato puree, tomato paste, hot water to the pan and cook it until the beef is cooked perfectly.
  • Then, add the fried okras to the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Lastly, serve this khoresh bamieh with white rice.

Chicken Khoresh Bamieh Recipe

  9. Sunflower oil ( 3 cups )
  10. Water ( 9 cups )

  11. Water ( 9 cups )
