Persian Sharbat Recipe

Persian sharbat is a drink that is made with different types of fruits, chia seeds and sugar. Persian people is drunk it during Ramadan month after breaking fasting as an iftar drink. It is also drunk in the summer season. The taste of the Persian sharbat is very unique. So the Persian sharbat recipe is-

Ingredients

  1. Oranges ( 3 )
  2. Lemons ( 2 )
  3. Chia seeds ( 3 tbsp )
  4. Rose water ( 2 tbsp )
  5. Cold water ( 1.5 liters )
  6. Normal temperature ( 1 cup )
  7. Sugar ( 1 cup or as your taste )

Methods

  • Firstly, cut the oranges and lemons into small pieces.
  • Then, put the oranges and lemon pieces in the refrigerator for 5 hours.
  • Then, soak the chia seeds in the water for 5 hours.
  • Then, put the frozen orange, lemon pieces, sugar, normal temperature water in the blender jar or food processor bowl and blend it very well with a blender or food processor.
  • Then, fruit paste will be made.
  • Then, add the cold water, rose water to the fruit paste and mix it very well.
  • Then, Persian sharbat will be made.
  • Then, strain the Persian sharbat with a strainer.

Persian Saffron Sharbat Recipe

Saffron sharbat is a very delicious sharbat. So the recipe of this sharbat is-

Ingredients

  1. Saffron threads ( 2 tsp )
  2. Chia seeds ( 3 tbsp )
  3. Rose water ( 1 tbsp )
  4. Lemon juice ( 2 tbsp )
  5. Normal temperature water ( 5 cups )
  6. Hot water ( 1 cups )
  7. Sugar ( 1/3 cup or as your taste )
  8. Ice cubes

Methods

  • Firstly, grind the saffron threads with a mortar and pestle.
  • Then, saffron powder will be made.
  • Then, soak the saffron powder in the hot water for half an hour.
  • Then, saffron water will be made.
  • Then, soak the chia seeds in the water for 5 hours.
  • Then, put the sugar and the normal tempurature water in the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Then, add the lemon juice, saffron water, rose water to the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Then, Persian saffron sharbat will be made.
  • Then, add the soaked chia seeds to the saffron sharbat and mix it very well.
  • Then, cool down the saffron sharbat.

Persian Khakshir ( Flixweed ) Sharbat Recipe

Flixweed is called Khakshir in Farsi. So the recipe of this khakshir sharbat is-

Ingredients

  1. Flixweed/Khakshir ( 3 and 1/2 tbsp )
  2. Saffron threads ( 2 tsp )
  3. Rose water ( 3 tbsp )
  4. Normal temperature water ( 5 cups ) (for cooking )
  5. Chia seeds ( 3 tbsp )
  6. Sugar ( 1/3 cup or as your taste )
  7. Ice cubes

Methods

  • Firstly, grind the saffron threads with a mortar and pestle.
  • Then, saffron powder will be made.
  • Then, wash the flixweed 2 times.
  • Then, soak the flixweed with the water.
  • Then, soak the chia seeds in the water for 5 hours.
  • Then, put the sugar, normal tempurature water in the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • Then, add the rose water, saffron powder to the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.

Cherry is called Albaloo in Farsi. So the recipe of this cherry sharbat is-

Ingredients

  1. Sour Cherries ( 500 gram )
  2. Sugar ( 5 cups )
  3. Lemon juice ( 1 tbsp )
  4. Normal temperature water ( 1 liter )
  5. Cold water ( 0.5 liter )
  6. Ice cubes

Methods

  • Firstly, remove the seeds of the cherry with a cherry pitter tool.
  • Then, put the cherries, sugar, water, lemon juice in the pan and cook it for 20 minutes.
  • Then, cherry syrup will be made.
  • Then, add the cold water to the cherry syrup.
  • Then, Persian albaloo sharbat will be made.
  • Then, strain the albaloo sharbat with a strainer.

  1. Persian musk willow extract/ water ( 4 tbsp )
  2. Saffron threads ( 2 tsp )
  3. Rose water ( 2 tbsp )
  4. Normal temperature water ( 5 cups )
  5. Chia seeds ( 3 tbsp )
  6. Sugar ( 1/3 cup or as your taste )
  7. Mint leaves ( 1 and 1/2 cups )
  8. Ice cubes
  9. Dried rose
