Qottab Recipe

Qottab is a Persian cookie that is made with wheat flour, nuts, sugar and spice. It is one of the most famous and traditional sweet dishes in Iran. Besides it is one of the oldest dishes in Iran. So the Qottab recipe is-

Ingredients

  1. Wheat flour ( 3 cups )
  2. Vegetable oil ( 1/2 cup ) ( for dough )
  3. Plain yogurt ( 1 cup )
  4. Egg ( 1 )
  5. Baking powder ( 1 tsp )
  6. Walnut ( 1/2 cup )
  7. Sugar ( 1 cup )
  8. Cardamom powder ( 1 tsp )
  9. Cinnamon powder ( 1/2 tsp )
  10. Powdered sugar

Methods

  • Firstly, put the walnut, sugar, cardamom powder, cinnamon powder in the blender jar or food processor bowl and blend it very well with a blender or food processor.
  • Then, qottab filling will be made.
  • Then, put the vegetable oil, sugar, plain yogurt, egg in the bowl and mix it very well with a whisk.
  • Then, add the wheat flour, baking powder to the bowl and mix it very well with hand.
  • Then, hard dough will be made.
  • Then, keep the dough aside for 1 hour.
  • Then, make the dough into small flatbreads shape.
  • Then, wrappers will be made.
  • Then, put the qottab filling on the wrapper.

  10. Powdered sugar
