Sugar Free Halva Recipe

Halva is Persian or Iranian popular sweet dish that is made with different types of grain, sugar, water, dried fruits and spice. It is not only popular dish in Iran but also a popular dish in the whole middle east countries. Each country makes this dish differently. People of middle eastern countries eat this dish in the evening time with tea. This dish contains a lot of sugar that’s why most of the dieters don’t eat this dish. So we provided sugar free halva recipe that will help dieters to cook this delicious dish.

Ingredients

  1. Wheat flour ( 1 cup )
  2. Water ( 1 and 1/2 cups )
  3. Rose water ( 1/4 cup )
  4. Saffron powder ( 1 tsp )
  5. Cardamom powder ( 1 tsp )
  6. Grapeseed oil ( 1/3 cup )
  7. Butter ( 7 tbsp )
  8. Monk fruit sweetener ( 2 tbsp or as your taste )
  9. Slivered pistachio nuts

Methods

  • Firstly, sift the wheat flour with a mesh strainer.
  • Then, put water in the pan and boil it for 5 minutes.
  • Then, add saffron powder, cardamom powder, rose water to the boiled water and mix it very well with a wooden spatula.
  • Then, spice water will be made.
  • Then, roast the sifted wheat flour in the nonstick frying pan on low heat for 20 minutes.
  • Then, add grapeseed oil, butter to the roasted flour and cook it for 10 minutes.
  • Then, add spice water gradually to the roasted flour and stir it continuously very well with a spatula.
  • Then, again add the monk fruit sweetener to the flour and mix it very well with a spatula.
  • Then, cook the flour until the water is dried up completely. When the water is dried up fully, then the Persian wheat flour halva is ready for eating.
  • Lastly, serve this sugar free Persian wheat flour halva with slivered pistachio nuts.

Note: We have to stir all the ingredients continuously when the halva is cooking.

  1. Rice flour ( 1 cup )
  2. Water ( 3 cups ) ( for cooking halva )
  3. Rose water ( 1/4 cup )
  4. Saffron threads ( 1/2 tsp )
  5. Grapeseed oil ( 1/3 cup )
  6. Butter ( 2 tbsp )
  7. Gluten-free monk fruit sweetener ( 2 tbsp or as your taste )
  8. Sliced almond nuts

Methods

  • Firstly, sift the rice flour with a mesh strainer.
  • Then, soak the saffron threads in 1/2 cup warm water for 20 minutes.
  • Then, saffron water will be made.
  • Then, put sifted rice flour, water in the pan and mix it very well with a hand whisk.
  • Then, cook the ingredients for 2 minutes on low heat.
